Gunite Pool Process

The entire pool will be re-inforced with standard weld mesh Reference 156. Stress points will be double re-inforced. Surrounding perimeter bond beam to be re-inforced with 10mm high tensile rod. Steel specifications do vary depending on soil conditions. In Dolomite soil conditions a 4 times heavier steel specification is necessary i.e. Y10mm rods at 200 centres throughout the pool.

Gunite is pneumatically applied concrete.
Gunite mix = 4 sand to 1 cement. Gunite thickness varies between 130 to 150mm.

The pool shell will be guaranteed for a period of 20 years against structural failure due to faulty workmanship or defective materials.
Proper water management / drainage around immediate pool area is essential; the water must not be allowed to undermine the pool shell in which case the shell will not be guaranteed at all.

Proper expansion joints in pool surround is necessary, failure to comply will result in horizontal cracks in mosaics and gunite shell.
The guarantee does not cover pool being emptied without written permission from the contractor.
